Insurance & Billing
We work with many major insurance plans for medical dermatology. Here’s how to check your coverage before your visit.
Plans We Commonly Work With
Insurance networks vary by plan, product and office, and participation can change. Please confirm that your specific plan is accepted at the office you plan to visit — call the office directly or contact your insurance company before your appointment.
Questions about coverage?
Call the office you plan to visit and have your insurance card ready.
Medical visits
Visits for skin conditions, skin checks and biopsies are typically billed to your insurance. Your copay, coinsurance and deductible depend on your plan.
Referrals
Some HMO and managed care plans require a referral from your primary care doctor before you see a specialist. Check with your plan in advance.
Cosmetic treatments
Cosmetic and elective procedures — such as Botox, fillers, laser hair removal and PRP — are not covered by insurance. Pricing is discussed at your consultation.
Checklist: verifying your coverage
- Confirm that DR WW Dermatology and the office you’ll visit are in network for your plan.
- Ask whether you need a referral to see a dermatologist.
- Check your specialist copay and whether your deductible applies.
- Bring your current insurance card and photo ID to every visit.
- Tell our front desk about any insurance change before your appointment.
