FAQ

Common Questions

Do I need a referral to see a dermatologist?

It depends on your insurance plan. Many PPO plans don’t require one, while some HMO and managed Medicaid plans do. Please check with your plan before your visit.

How early should I arrive for my first visit?

Please arrive about 15 minutes early so there is time to complete new-patient paperwork and verify your insurance.

Do you see children?

Yes, our dermatologists evaluate skin conditions in children as well as adults. A parent or guardian must accompany minors.

Do you offer service in Chinese?

Yes. All four offices have staff who speak English and Mandarin Chinese.

Can I have a medical visit and a cosmetic treatment on the same day?

Sometimes. Cosmetic treatments often need a separate, longer appointment, and some are scheduled on dedicated days. Ask when you book.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Please call your office as early as possible so we can offer the time to another patient.

Can I send photos of my skin through the website?

Please don’t send medical photos or detailed health information through our general website form. Bring photos to your visit, and our staff will tell you about any approved way to share medical information securely.

How are medical and cosmetic visits billed?

Medical visits are typically billed to your insurance, subject to your copay, deductible and plan rules. Cosmetic treatments are elective, are not covered by insurance and are paid directly.
